Douglas Budget - May 20, 2009Earl "Dean" Castle, 77, of Casper passed away May 14, 2009, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Aug. 4, 1931, to Earl W. and Rosa R. Baughman Castle in Mitchell, Neb. The family moved to Douglas in 1932. He was educated in the Douglas schools, graduating high school in 1950.
In 1952, he went to work for the Wyoming Highway Department, retiring Aug. 13, 1993, after 41 years. He served in the National Guard for eight years and six months active duty at Fort Knox, Ky. In the fall of 1956, he became ill with polio and could not serve his country any longer.
On May 28, 1954, he was united in marriage to Carol Evelyn Johnson and to this union three children were born.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carol; children Debra Jean Bagner (Ed), Patricia Ann Schaff (Les) and Richard Dean Castle (Donna); five grandsons and one-granddaughter; seven great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; three sisters; and one brother.
Dean was Christian within the Seventh Day Adventist beliefs.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. May 21 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2625 Casper Mountain Road, with Elder Gordon Henderson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice Home or Jason's Friends.
