Douglas Budget - March 25, 2009Graveside services for Vern Alvin case, 76, will be held at 2 p.m. March 26 at Douglas Park Cemetery with Pastor Steve Vetter of First Baptist Church officiating.
Mr. Case died March 22, 2009, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
He was born Sept. 20, 1932, in Orpha, the son of Raymond Harold and Florence (Sneathen) Case. He was reared and educated at Orpha. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a parts man for Industrial Distributors and Motion Equipment. He retired in 1997 but continued to work part time until ill health forced him to quit.
He married Maxine (Uttecht) Burton on April 1, 1968, in Douglas, and they later divorced. He married Alice Ruth (Reynolds) Wright on Sept. 24, 1985, in Gillette.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing horseshoes.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa (James) Britton of Casper; step-children Keith (Karla) Wright of Cheyenne, Jack (Kathy) Wright of Gordon, Neb., Kim (Bill) Foster of Gillette and Ed Burton of Hawaii; sisters Vivian Rothleutner of Cheyenne and Ella Rose of Fort Towson, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth, on June 21, 2008; sister, Pauline Viola Case, on May 9, 1940; and brother, Floyd Harold Case, on Sept. 22, 2008.
Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Wright, Travis Wright, Wayne Brawley, Larry Griffith, Mike Packard and John Packard.
A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
