Douglas Budget - June 25, 2008Graveside services for Alice "Ruth" Case, 67, were held June 24 at the Douglas Park Cemetery with Pastor Frank Wiederrecht of The Gathering officiating.
Ruth Case, a resident of Mills, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper after a short illness, surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born January 11, 1941, in Sundance to Herbert A. and Thelma A. (Closson) Reynolds. She attended schools in North Dakota, Upton, Midwest and Lynch. She resided in various communities around Wyoming, with the last 35 years in the Casper/Mills areas. She married Lee Wright in 1957 and to this union three children were born; two sons, Keith and Jack, and a daughter, Kim. They later divorced.
Ruth then wed Vern A. Case on September 24, 1985 in Gillette. She was a cook at the nursing home in Gillette for several years and a waitress/cook at various bars and restaurants throughout Casper. Her hobbies included playing cards and games, camping, and she loved her "morning paper."
She is survived by her husband, Vern, of Mills; sons and their wives, Keith and Karla Wright of Cheyenne and Jack and Kathy Wright of Gordon, Neb.; daughter and her husband, Kim and Bill Foster of Gillette; step-daughter and husband, Lisa and Jamie Britton of Casper; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister and her husband, Rita and Wayne Brawley of Casper; brother and his wife, Bob and Judy Reynolds of Helena, Mont.; brother-in-law and wife, Floyd and Jane Case; and sister-in-law, Vivian Rothleutner all of Douglas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Art Reynolds; a sister, Rose Griffith; and a grandson.
Serving as pallbearers were Gale Wright, Tony Wells, Jimmy Wells, Larry Griffith, Marcus Griffith, and Bob Lampert.
A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.
