Funeral services for Lucile L. Christiansen, 75, were held on March 9 at Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel in Douglas with the Rev. Linda Wells of First United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment was March 9 at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton with the Rev. Mark Thurman of United Methodist Church officiating.

Lucile Christiansen died March 6, 2009, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

Lucile was born Sept. 24, 1933, in Rocky Point to Aldin and Ethel (Clark) Reynolds. She was raised on the family ranch until the family moved to Gillette when she was in the eighth grade. She graduated from Campbell County High School in 1951.

In September of that year she moved to Sheridan and enrolled in beauty college, graduating in March 1952. Her first job was at a beauty salon in Casper.

She met her husband of 38 years, Earl Christiansen, in July 1952, and they were married on November 22, 1952, in Casper. They made their home in Casper and their first child, Gary, was born in 1956. Their daughter, Donna, was born in 1957. They moved to Riverton in 1961 to manage a glass shop and had another daughter, Sharon, in 1965.

Lucile and Earl purchased their glass shop in 1962 and ran it until 1984. Lucile lived in Wheatland for a few years and most recently resided in Douglas. She was a long time member of the Elks Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary.

Lucile enjoyed fishing, camping and crocheting. She made many beautiful afghans. She loved to play cards and enjoyed working in her yard until her health prevented it.

She left behind son Gary (Sharon) Christiansen of Laramie; daughters Donna (Larry) McMichael of Douglas and Sharon McGurn of Riverton; brothers Ellis Reynolds of Moorcroft and Vern Reynolds of Gillette; sister Vera Clements of Biddle, Mont.; grandchildren Keri Homan, Jennifer Springer, Jared McMichael, Sandra Hiebert and Jessica McGurn; great-grandchildren Paityn, Aubri, Taylor and Braden; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog and companion, Dollie.

Lucile was preceded in death by husband Earl; father Aldin; mother Ethel; brothers Earl Reynolds, Herbert Reynolds and Clark Reynolds.

Lucile was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was most happy when spending time with loved ones.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were her family and all of her friends.

A memorial to the American Cancer Society in care of Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, WY 82633 or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
