Douglas Budget - October 1, 2008Graveside services for Floyd Harold Case, 78, were held Sept. 29 at Douglas Park Cemetery, with Pastor Frank Wiederrecht of The Gathering officiating.
Floyd Case died Sept. 22, 2008, at Douglas Care Center.
He was born Aug. 26, 1930, at Orin Junction, the son of Raymond and Florence (Sneathen) Case. He was reared and educated at Orpha. He served in the United States Army from Nov. 4, 1947, to Nov. 20, 1951, during the Korean Conflict and received the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars. He returned to Wyoming following his discharge.
He was married to Lilly Jane Thompson on July 11, 1955, in Casper. They resided in the Douglas area, and he worked for the railroad and as a laborer in the construction business. He was a member of the Samuel Mares American Legion Post #8. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, hanging our at the Douglas Grocery Store to visit with friends and drink pop, cam recording the winter scenery, and playing Santa Claus.
He is survived by his wife Lilly of Douglas; children Erwin (Wendy) Case of Casper, Gladys (Bruce) Marshall, Florence Ewing (Ray Hugg), Pauline Anador, and Vivian Marshall (Terry Shanley), all of Douglas; brother Vern Case of Mills; sisters Vivian Rothleutner of Cheyenne and Ella Rose of Fort Towson, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Pauline Case.
A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.
