1937 - 2010

Douglas Budget - January 27, 2010

Funeral service for Donna Lee Cundy, 72, were held Jan. 26 at First Presbyterian Church in Gillette with Rev. Peggy Brown officiating.

Burial followed in the Gillette Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Walker Funeral Home.

Donna Cundy passed away suddenly at her home Jan. 23, 2010, after losing her long battle with Alzheimer's.

Donna was born in Winner, S.D. on July 22, 1937, to Lewis and Ethel (Lundberg) Hansen. The family moved shortly thereafter to Douglas. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1956.

On Aug. 31, 1957, Donna married Leslie Allen Cundy in Douglas. Donna provided a loving home for Les and their four children. Over the next 18 years, the family would move 21 times across the state of Wyoming as Les managed highway construction projects, finally settling down in Gillette in 1975.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Leslie; four children and a daughter-in-law, Brad Cundy (Jan) of Casper, Clint Cundy, Kim Clark and Clay Cundy of Gillette; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Donna was an avid cook and loved to bake chocolate chip cookies. She always had a camera in her purse and was ready to take a picture. She enjoyed camping and hunting not because of the activity but because she loved the time with her family. Dancing with Les was her true passion.

The last few years she got great enjoyment in the summers going to the lake at Keyhole, being with her family and watching her great-grandchildren and the cottontail rabbits as they multiplied.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been made in Donna's honor to the Hospice House of Campbell County. Memorials can be sent to the Walker Funeral Home, 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716.
