Douglas Budget - January, 2003Funeral services for Sharon "Shari" Damrow, 59, will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 8 at First United Church of Christ in Torrington, with Revs. Thomas Hall and Jon Laughlin officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
Mrs. Damrow died Jan. 6, 2003, at United Medical Center West in Cheyenne.
She was born March 29, 1943, in Torrington to Reinhold and Freida Weickum. She attended schools in Lingle and Torrington, graduating from Torrington High School in 1961. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1965 with a bachelor of science in education.
In 1966, she married Neil Damrow.
Mrs. Damrow taught high school in Glendo for a short time. In 1974 she went to work for the state recreation department and the department of parks and commerce. She retired in August 2001 as the procurement manager. She had started her career as a part-time receptionist.
During her youth, she was an active 4-H member for 10 years and won numerous awards. She was named the 4-H recipient for the Wyoming State Award for outstanding female.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle Carlson of Boise, Idaho; grandson Cody Carlson of Boise; and best friend Bill Brinegar of Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
