Born June 14, 1908, in Pierz, Minn., to Henry and Nora (Walker) Wagner, she grew up and was educated in Douglas, graduating from Converse County High School in 1926. She attended Black Hills Teachers College in Spearfish, S.D., and was a pioneer teacher in the rural Douglas area at Pleasant Valley and Carey Hurst schools.
She later attended Woodberry Business College in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Dalene married Porter Dalene in 1950. They resided in Scottsbluff, Neb., where she was the manager of Sweetbriar Shop Ladies Ready-to-Wear. In 1953 she won the President's Silver Loving Cup for outstanding, all-around performance in the company.
She later retired in Torrington where she lived until May 1993. She then moved to Longmont to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church in Torrington and a member of Eastern Star Narcissus Chapter No. 269 in Omaha, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two infant brothers.
Survivors include her daughter Judy (Bellamy) Brooks and her husband Murray of Longmont; granddaughters Sandra (Brooks) Brown and Larry of Longmont, and Kathy (Brooks) Markle and Pete of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren Jennifer Brown and Scott and Jeff Markle.
Cremation was held at Howe Mortuary and Crematory in Longmont. At her request a private family interment will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.
