Douglas Budget - 1992Memorial services for Clifford Dameron, 81, were held Oct. 31 at Christ Episcopal Church. The body was cremated and there was no visitation.
Mr. Dameron died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1992 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa following a sudden illness.
Mr. Dameron was born April 9, 1911 in Denver, Colo., and was the son of Clifford L. and Mable (Blackwell) Dameron. He married Virginia Graham, June 6, 1936 in Denver, Colo.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Douglas, the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Moose Lodge, where he served as president. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and had served as Secretary/Treasurer for 20 years. Mr. Dameron was a volunteer for the Red Cross and was the Representative of the Douglas Red Cross for 25 years. He was a member of the Douglas Community Club. He was a graduate of West High School in Denver. He received his degree in Accounting from LaSalle Extension University of Chicago. He worked 17 years as an accountant for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad in Denver. He and his wife later moved to Orin Junction where they owned and operated Cliffs Place for many years. While in Orin Junction he served as head Postmaster. He then moved to Douglas where he was a self-employed Public Accountant.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Douglas, two sons, Graham of Iowa City, Iowa, David of Douglas, one brother, Warren of Denver, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son.
