Douglas Enterprise - January, 1960Arthur B. Daniels of Phoenix, Ariz., son of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Daniels, Wyoming pioneer family, died Jan. 27, at the Memorial Hospital in Phoenix, after a short illness. He was born Jan. 20, 1893, in Verona, Neb., and was 67 years and seven days of age.
He was reared and educated in Douglas, and Notre Dame University. He was a member of the Episcopal Church. In 1910 he was married to Clara Schmidt. They had two children, a son and daughter, left Douglas in 1920.
He entered the Indian Service Dept. of Interior in 1926, at Fort Mojave, Arizona, and retired in 1953, at Rosebud, South Dakota, and has lived in Phoenix, Ariz., the past two years. Mr. Daniels was a life member of Kingman, Arizona, Elks Lodge No. 468.
He is survived by his wife, son Bruce and family of Tomah, Wis., his sister, Esther D. Elhinney, Denver, and three grandchildren. His daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held from the Stark Funeral Home Monday afternoon, with the Rev. F.O. Miller, rector of Christ Episcopal Church of Douglas, officiating. The Casper Elks officiated at the graveside services.
Pallbearers were Bud Tillard, Henry Reese, Jess Morsch, Doc Robbins, Ed George and Mortimer Peters.
Relatives here for the funeral from out-of-town included Judge and Mrs. T.C. Daniels, Mrs. Mary C. Starks, Casper; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Schumacher, Grand Island, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Miller, Lusk; Mr. Karl F.S. Schmidt, Fred Schmidt, Mrs. Effie Lowndes, and Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Rue, all of Casper, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Johnson, Benkleman, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Lee W. Starks and Mrs. James Rasmussen.
