Douglas Budget - February 28, 2004Memorial Services for Georgia N. Daniels will be held at 10 a.m. March 6 at the First Congregational Church in Casper with Rev. Charlene Hinckley and Bill Cochran officiating.
Private family burial will be at Douglas Park Cemetery at a later date.
Daniels, 93, of Gillette, died Feb. 28, 2004, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette of natural causes.
Mrs. Daniels was born Jan. 29, 1910, to Georgia (Haner) and Theodore E. Nordgren in Anamosa, Iowa.
Mrs. Daniels graduated from high school in Seattle. She taught at different schools in Nebraska and Wyoming, including Casper and Douglas.
She married Theodore C. Daniels in 1937 and lived in Douglas until 1957, when Ted was appointed judge of the Seventh Judicial Court and moved to Casper.
Mrs. Daniels worked in youth activities including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, taught Sunday School and was a co-sponsor of the youth group at Congregational Church in Douglas. She was also the past matron of Woodbine PEO Chapter #18 in Douglas and past president of the Wyoming State Chapter PEO. She was a member of Meals on Wheels, the Hospital Auxiliary, Pink Ladies, Bridge Club and Life Live.
Mrs. Daniels is survived by her daughter Pat (Scott) Burton of Simi Valley, Calif.; son John T. (Sandra) Daniels of Gillette; grandsons Ian Daniels of Gillette and Daniel (Melanie) Begakis of Burbank, Calif.; and great-grand-children Jack and Virginia Begakis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother Gene Nordgren; and grand-daughter Elisha Burton.
A memorial has been established in Mrs. Daniels' name to benefit First Congregational Church of Casper, Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of Gillette, and Meals on Wheels or Blue Envelope Fund.
