Unknown - 2001LUSK-Services for Frances "Putty" Davenport, 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the chapel.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She died March 16, 2001, in Casper.
She was born Nov. 29, 1909, in Ord, Neb., to Thomas and Melissa Hull Lane.
She married Elvin E. Davenport and he died in April 1986.
She worked as a head telephone operator in Nebraska before moving to Lusk in 1948.
They co-owned and operated Budget Food Mart with her sister and brother-in-law. They became sole owners of the store in 1964 and operated it until 1971.
She was an active participant in the Church of Christ for more than 50 years.
She loved singing and playing the piano.
Her hobbies included gardening, collecting ceramics and elephant figurines.
The highlight of her life was the birth of her son.
Survivors include her son, Dick of Glendo; two sisters, Georgia Woods of Ogallala, Neb., and Virginia Dillard of Sun City, Ariz., and three nephews.
