Douglas Budget - 2002Funeral services for Elwood "Woody" David, 74, have been held.
Mr. David was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Sheridan to Jonas and Erma (Branch) David.
In 1946, Mr. David married Phyllis Ridley in Forsyth, Mont. He later married Bobbi J. Williams in Billings, Mont., and the couple made their home in Sheridan.
Mr. David ranched in Decker, Mont., rode rough stock and raced wild horses on the rodeo circuit.
He was self-employed as a logger in the Big Horn Mountains. Mr. David also worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Decker Coal for many years until his retirement.
Following his retirement, Mr. David worked construction in South America.
Mr. David was a member of the Elks Lodge #1475 in Lusk.
Mr. David is survived by his wife Bobbi of Sheridan; daughters Melody A. Newell and her husband Dennis of Esterbrook, Merry J. Potter and husband Dave of Sheridan and Faye R. Potter and husband Gordon of Rapid City, S.D.; son Van David and wife Pam of Big Horn; grandchildren Misty Haefele, Michelle Newell, Angela Newell, Rhonda Potter-Curry, Eric Potter, Debbie Siemers, Sean Gilbert, Dennis David, Clint David and Tina Hunt; great-grandchildren Kimber, Halie, Shea and Shonda Haefele, Jaxin Curry, Brandon and Triston Siemers, Zakkary David, Kayla Potter and Bryce and Shyana Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in Woody's name to the Elks Youth Rodeo in care of Kay Roush, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6004, Sheridan 82801.
