Douglas Budget - March, 1997CASPER- Services for Beverly Sue Davis, 78, will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Bustard Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Odell of Christ United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis died March 18, 1997, at Hospice Home in Casper.
She was born March 23, 1918, in Lander, the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Meredith) Myers. In 1920, she moved with her family to Casper, where she received her education and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1937.
The family lived on Lennox Street in east Casper. While playing outside, surveyors asked her name, Beverly Street was named for her about 1923.
After graduation, she worked for a while as a waitress, then later for the Ration Board during World War II.
On Nov. 1, 1944, she married Allen R. Davis at the First Methodist Church in Casper. After their marriage, she pursued a career as a homemaker for many years. She later worked as a postal clerk at Hilltop Post Office until her retirement in 1980.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Ghost Town Sam's RV Club and the Pythian Sisters, whom she served as Past Grand Chief and Most Excellent Chief of Casper Temple.
Survivors include her husband, son, Rick Davis of Glenrock; brother, Meredith R. Myers of Casper and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to either the Pythian Sisters Nurse's Scholarship or Hospice. Contributions may be left at the Bustard Funeral Home.
