Douglas Budget - October, 1992George Henry Davis, 71, of Glenrock, died Oct. 21 at Upper Gross Ventre River, Teton National Forest while hunting in the mountains.
He was born Aug. 2, 1921 in Warrensburg, Mo., the son of George H. Davis and Cora Francis (Jenkins) Davis.
He was married to Shirley Louise Scott, June 5, 1942, in Seattle, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army, Dec. 1941 to Dec. 1945, Army Signal Corp. in Alaska.
He moved to Glenrock in April 1967. He worked for Pacific Power and Light as Chief Electrical dispatcher until his retirement in 1984.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, calving and ranching.
He was a past school board clerk and belonged to the Lions Club, V.F.W. and the American Legion in Glenrock.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley L. Davis of Glenrock; daughter, Cynthia L. (Davis) Fuerst of Seattle, Wash.; son, Gary S. Davis of Raton, N.M.; son, Charles (Chuck) R. Davis of Cora, Wyo; daughter, Deborah K. Davis (Krivanec) of Douglas; brother, William Davis of Baker, Ore.; sister, Pat Sims of Tuscon, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial to the Wyoming Wildlife Federation and/or the American Heart Association would be appreciated by the family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services were held Oct. 26 at the Community Baptist Church in Glenrock where cremation took place.
