Douglas Pioneer Dies in Denver
Unknown - UnknownMrs. Mary B. David, 87, widow of Edward T. David, died Friday at her home in Denver.
Mr. and Mrs. David came to central Wyoming more than 50 years ago and for a period before entering business in Douglas, he served as foreman of the Carey ranches. Mr. David operated the Florence Hardware Co. here when Douglas was young which at that time manufactured the famous Florence sheep wagons. He is also responsible for building several of the town's finest business buildings and residences. In 1919 the Davis' moved to Denver.
Mrs. David was an active worker in the Episcopal church and many other organizations. She was actively interested in the Florence Crittendon home in Denver and helped start a number of libraries in the state including the one here. At one time she was a member of the board of trustees of the University of Wyoming and chairman of the group.
Survivors include one son, Robert, of Casper.
