Douglas Budget - May, 1993Graveside services for Jessie Mae Dewees, 85, were held May 18 at the Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas, with Father Rock Schuler of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Casper officiating.
Mrs. Dewees died May 12, 1993, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper after a long illness.
She was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Nenzil, Neb., the daughter of Harvey and Catherine (Danofski) Morgan.
She attended high school in Kilgore, Neb.
She was married to Chester C. Dewees on Oct. 16, 1925, in Valentine, Neb.
Mrs. Dewees lived in the Glenrock and Hartville areas before returning to Nebraska in 1931. In 1945 she and her husband moved to Douglas and lived here until her husband's death in 1955. She then moved to Casper and attended Hall's Beauty School.
She retired from the Hilltop Beauty Salon in 1971.
Mrs. Dewees was active with St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Casper and the Fort Casper Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Hazen and Dorothy Lang, both of Casper; two sisters, Ada Sudbury of Guernsey, and Ruby Kindle of Eureka, Kan.; one brother, Chet Morgan of Guernsey; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, C. Blaine Dewees; a sister, Alice Kroeger; and a brother, Dale Morgan.
A memorial to the Make A Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
The Memorial Chapel of Casper was in charge of the arrangements.
