Douglas Budget - March, 2000Funeral services for Erika Nichole Deviney, 22, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 5, at Zion Lutheran Church in Douglas with Pastor Richard Mueller officiating and Carolyn Hadley as the eulogist.
Interment will be in Douglas Park Cemetery.
Erika died Sunday, March 1, at her home in Casper following a sudden illness. She was born Sept. 20, 1975, in Casper to Jack and Vivika (Wiman) Deviney. She attended schools in Douglas, graduating May 1994. Erika attended Black Hills State College in Spearfish, S.D., and Casper College.
During high school, she was employed at Anthony's and spent summers as a fee collector at Glendo State Park. She was employed at Target in Casper at the time of her death.
Erika enjoyed running, rollerblading, hiking, camping and fishing. She really enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also an avid collector of rabbits. She was a confirmed member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was active in Sunday School, Bible School and youth group.
She is survived by her parents, Jack and Vivika, and a brother Carl, all of Douglas; her grandparents, Carl and Ruth Deviney and Irene Wiman, all of Baker, Mont.; aunts and uncles Brenda and Mike O'Connor of Billings, Mont., Carolyn and Jack Hadley of Baker, Sherri and Ralph Sonsalla of Bowman, N.D., Marnei and Dave Lolley of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Lisa and Bob Wimett of Missoula, Mont.; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Holger John Wiman in 1981.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Hadley, Trenton Sonsalla, Carl Deviney, Justin Hill, Jason Shuler and Shannon Haake. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Hadley, John Hadley, Justin Hadley, Jarrett Hadley, Weston Dent and Derrick Sonsalla with the rest of her family and friends.
A memorial to Breast Cancer Coalition, P.O. Box 503, Douglas would be appreciated by the family.
Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday.
