Douglas Budget - May, 1980Nora Kristine Deahl, 92, resident of Douglas, passed away Saturday, May 31, at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Sutley Funeral Chapel in Torrington, Wednesday, June 4, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Arthur Campbell of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Valleyview Cemetery, Torrington.
Nora Deahl was born October 29, 1887 in Sioux City, Iowa, daughter of Rasmus and Kristine Johansen Petersen. She was educated in the Sioux City Iowa schools and then resided in Minnesota for a number of years. She was married to William A. Deahl May 18, 1908 in St. Paul, Minn.
The couple homesteaded 17 miles north of Torrington in April 1914 and had made this area their home until Mr. Deahl's death in 1940. Nora moved to Torrington and was employed for 14 years at the Ladies Lounge until retirement in 1971. She moved to Douglas at that time, and resided at Michael Manor until her death.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Torrington that was located in 2101 East C. St.
Survivors include one son, George W. Deahl of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth D. Johnson of Douglas; one sister, Mrs. Olava Hansen of Sioux City, Iowa; one granddaughter, Nora B. Bullock of Los Angeles, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
