Douglas Budget - May, 2000Funeral services for longtime Glendo summer resident Harvey Wilbert Ditter, 69, were May 9 at Glendo Community Church with Pastor Dan Hickman officiating.
Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
Mr. Ditter died suddenly and peacefully at his Glendo home on the evening of May 4.
He was born April 5, 1931, in Mitchell, Neb., the eldest son of Conrad and Katherine (Greenwalt) Ditter. He was reared and educated in the Mitchell area.
Mr. Ditter served in the Navy during the Korean War for four years. Following his discharge he moved to Commerce City, Colo., where he resided until the time of his death. He worked at Gates Rubber Company in Denver staring in 1956 and retiring in 1986 for medical reasons.
He married Betty J. Sowers on Feb. 23, 1967 in Brighton, Colo., and to that union one daughter, Debra, was born on Nov. 25, 1970. He was a great family man and enjoyed coming to Glendo for the summers and fishing at Glendo Lake.
He is survived by his wife Betty and daughter Debra Kelly of Commerce City; sisters Helen Schwab and Miriam Brown of Scottsbluff, Neb.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Irene Kuhlman; and brother Harold Ditter.
A memorial to the American Heart Association, 1807 Capitol Ave., Suite 109, Cheyenne 82001 would be appreciated by the family.
Converse Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
