Young Ranch Wife Killed in Freak
Unknown - January, 1959Mrs. Wm. M. Dixon, Jr., 25, died in Memorial hospital a few minutes after she was admitted January 26, from injuries sustained in a freak accident.
She and her husband, who reside on the Dixon ranch near Ayres Natural Bridge, had finished their chores and supper and decided to go rabbit hunting. Somehow, the right hand door of their pickup came open and Mrs. Dixon fell out. Mr. Dixon skidded to a stop and went back to where she was lying in the road. She was conscious but he was afraid to try to move her so he rushed to the Fred AuFrance ranch and got Mr. AuFrance to come back and help him load her in the pickup. By this time she was unconscious.
Mr. Dixon rushed her to the hospital where she expired a few minutes later. The accident occurred about 8:15 p.m.
