Douglas Budget - April 17, 2004Funeral services for Helen Jerrine Dieleman, 79, were held April 23 at Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel in Douglas, with Deacon Debbie Rohlff of Christ Episcopal Church officiating.
Mrs. Dieleman died of natural causes on April 17, 2004, at her home in Douglas.
She was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Mason City, Neb., to William and Frieda (Davis) Donelson. She was the youngest of three children. During her youth, the family moved to Wyoming and homesteaded on Buckhorn Flats near Riverton. She graduated from Riverton High School in 1942 and, shortly after, left to work as a clerk for the FBI in Washington, D.C.
She received a degree in practical nursing and worked in several hospitals. She also worked as a waitress for many years in the western United States.
In 1954, she married Chuck White. They were later divorced. In 1983, she and Russell Wade "Buck" Dieleman were married in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Dieleman enjoyed activities at Douglas Senior Center, especially playing cards every Wednesday. Her time as a Senior Companion was a rewarding experience.
She is survived by her son Randy and wife Beverly White of Gillette; grandchildren Douglas White of Sheridan, Dale White of White Salmon, Wash., and Pamela White of Ely, Nev.; and great-grandson Conner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Buck on Jan. 8, 1996; sister Armis Higgs; and brother Richard Donelson.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 192, Douglas 82633, would be appreciated by the family.
