Former Douglas Boy Killed While

Word was received here this week, that Jimmy Allen, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey P. Allen, Sr., was accidentally killed while hunting with his brother, Harvey Allen, Jr., 18, October 15, near their home at Eugene, Oreg.

According to the report, the two boys were hunting and had spread out. Harvey saw a movement in the trees and thought it was a deer. He shot at the movement and upon arriving at the scene, discovered that he had killed his younger brother.

The Allens resided in Douglas for many years and Jimmy was born here.

Survivors include his parents; his brother; two sisters, Mrs. Peggy Burgess and Dorothy Allen.

Jimmy was the nephew of Mrs. R.L. Swan and Mrs. J. M. Stevens of Douglas, and Everett and Earl Copenhaver, former Douglas residents.

Funeral services were held at Eugene, Oct. 18.
