Douglas Budget - September 29, 1983Mass for Christian Burial for pioneer rancher Tracy D. Bartshe, age 96, was held Tuesday, Sept. 27, 1983 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Philip Colibraro as the celebrant.
Rosary was recited Monday, Sept. 26, 1983 at 7:00 P.M. at the Converse Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Mr. Bartshe died Saturday, Sept. 24, 1983 at Poplar Living Center in Casper where he had been confined for 2 and a half weeks.
Tracy Bartshe was born March 26, 1887 at Buffalo, Missouri, he was the son of Henry and Grace Wood Bartshe. He came to Wyoming with his parents when he was four years old. He ranched in Boxelder Park near Glenrock until 1968 when he moved to Casper. On June 22, 1921 he married Ella Sullivan,, who preceded him in death in April, 1959. He served in the Army in France during World War I. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Leonard. He is survived by one son, R. Kenneth of the family ranch at Glenrock, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Hardesty of Casper, three granddaughters, Laurie, Kerry, and Michelle Hardesty, and one brother, Hugh of Buffalo, Wy.
Serving as pallbearers; Justin Werner, Jim Barshe, Jack Sullivan, Lawrence "Buzz" Philbrick, Bill Leman, and Ken Huff.
Honorary pallbearers were Fred Grant, Hugh Duncan, Bill Runnion, Bill Philbrick, Jim Philbrick, Art Horr, Ben LeVasseur, Charles Irwin, Jim Leman and Dave Johnstone.
A memorial to the Converse County Cancer Fund or to the St. James Catholic Church in Douglas would be equally appreciated by the family.
