Funeral services were held at Stark's chapel yesterday afternoon at 2:00 for Mrs. Grace Augusta Bartshe, 87, beloved pioneer resident of the Boxelder community. Rev. Roy Morrell of Christ Episcopal church officiated and burial was beside her husband in Douglas Park cemetery.

Mrs. Bartshe died Monday at Casper where she had made her home for the past 18 years.

Grace Augusta Wood was born April 28, 1866 in Ohio, the daughter of William and Mary Wright Wood. She spent most of her childhood in Louisiana and Vicksburg,Miss., later moving to Buffalo, Mo., with an aunt after the death of her parents. In about 1884, she was united in marriage with Henry Bartshe in Missouri. Approximately ten years later they moved to Wyoming, homesteading in Boxelder Park where they continued to live until 1924 when they moved to Glenrock, where , in 1930, Mr. Bartshe died. A few years later Mrs. Bartshe moved to Casper to make her home and resided there until her death.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and for a number of years was active in the Glenrock chapter.

Surviving are three sons, Leonard, Tracy and Hugh, all of Boxelder; a half brother, Elmer Wood of Casper; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John Sullivan, Jim Philbrick, Hugh Duncan, Fred Grant, Chas. Robbins and Willard Hiser.
