Unknown - 1968Mrs. Jessie Baughn, 87, long time Lusk area resident, died Sunday morning in Natrona County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 14, 1881 in Kansas. She came to Wyoming with her parents when she was seven. They settled near Lusk.
She was married to Carl W. Baughn on March 31, 1900 in Manville. They ranched near Manville.
The Baughns were active in the Wyoming legislature for many years. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1950.
Mr. Baughn preceded his wife in death in 1955.
Mrs. Baughn road side saddle in the State Fair parade in Douglas for 56 years. She had been sick this year, but got out of bed long enough to make her ride in the parade on Aug. 31 in Douglas.
She was a member of the Methodist Church. Royal Neighbors of America, Niobrara County Republican Women, and National Federation of Republican Women.
Mrs. Baughn is survived by a son, Floyd C., of Kaycee; one sister, Mrs. Maime Rodger, Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The body is being returned to Lusk where funeral services will be from the Peet Mortuary.
Burial will be in the family plot in the Manville cemetery. Local arrangements are by the Bustard Funeral Home.
