Douglas Budget - November 18, 1954Saturday, Nov. 13 relatives and friends from near and far met at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk to pay their last respects to Mrs. J.P. Bartos, who died suddenly early Thursday morning at her home in that city, Rev. Frank Bozart of the Open Bible church officiated and burial was in the Lusk cemetery.
Minnie Wanek was born August 2, 1885 at Madison, Neb., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wanek. On Sept. 25, 1906, she was united in marriage with Joseph P. Bartos at Alliance, Neb. To this union, four children were born, all of whom survived.
The family made their home in Nebraska until the spring of 1914 when they moved to Wyoming, homesteading north Keeline. In 1945 they retired from farming and moved to Lusk where they resided at the time of her death.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Church of San Bruno, Cal. and Mrs. Merle Sylvester of Wheatland, two sons, Glen of Douglas and Floyd of Keeline; three brothers, Louis and Amos Wanek of Hemingford, Neb., and Oscar Wanek of Story; one sister, Mrs. Lily Kennedy of Alliance, Neb.; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
