Unknown - January 29, 1979Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 28, at 2 o'clock from Stark's Chapel for Glen Roy Bartos, eldest of Joseph and Minnie Wanek Bartos, was born October 31, 1908 at their farm home near Hemingford, Nebr. In 1914 he came with his family to their homestead north of Keeline.
On October 31, 1929, he married Lolo Ruhl. To this union six children were born. One son, Donald Roy, died in infancy.
He leaves to mourn him his wife Lolo; three sons, Bill of Casper, Bob of Tyrone, Pa., and Dick who is in the Marines, stationed in Okinawa; two daughters, Dorothy 'Dode' Ryan of Worland, Wyoming and Mildred 'Mic' Solari of Woodbridge, Virginia; also his father Joe Bartos at Michael Manor; one brother, Floyd of Keeline; two sisters, Ethel Church of Millbrae, Calif. and Merle Jennings of Glendora, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and one great-grandson, and many other relatives and a host of wonderful friends and neighbors.
Since coming back to Douglas in 1942 Glen worked at the POW camp, Jones Pepsi-Cola Co., LeBar Ford Garage, Harry Johnston Construction Co., and on the Converse County road and bridge department.
Pallbearers were Marcus Graves, Babe Reed, Merwin Schlichting, Harold Schellinger, Bill Shellinger, and Don Sullivan.
Honary pallbearers were George Cross, John Ryan, Art Sims, Art Horr, Justin Werner, Earl Castle, Harry Johnston, Earl Work, Tom Curtin, Buri Jones, Walt Murphy, Allen Swan, Reolff Larson, Otto Bolln and Lee Bryson.
