Unknown - April 8, 1971Mrs. Cora O. Perkins Baker, 96, of Odell, Nebraska, died March 13 at Beatrice, Nebr. Funeral services were conducted in Lusk, Wyoming, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Clyde Thompson of Douglas, assisted by Rev. Don Dunsenberry, pastor of Lusk, officiating.
Mrs. J.P. Watson, organist, accompanied Mrs. Robert Coehreham as she sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Gathering Flowers for the Masters Bouquet."
Casket bearers were grandsons, Earl Slagle, Robert and James Baker, Donald and George Baker, and Edward Baker. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
She was the youngest daughter of George and Ellen Threthfern Perkins and was born Sept. 30, 1874, at Alton, Kansas. At the age of 4 she moved with her parents by covered wagon to Barnes, Kansas, where she grew to womanhood. On Dec. 25, 1894, she married George C. Baker. They were the parents of six sons and four daughters. The eldest son passed away while serving in the Navy.
She was a faithful member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include four sons, Guy and Roy of Douglas, George of Riverton, Harry of Lusk; four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Tincher, Wymore, Nebr.; Mrs. Harrie Slagle, Lusk; Mrs. Emily Shelden, Pomona, Calif.; Mrs. Stella Kenton, Lander, Wyo. 24 grandchildren, and 65 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, two sons, her parents, three brothers and two sisters passed away previously.
