Douglas Budget - October 2, 1947Nate Barrett, 66, died Sunday night at Memorial hospital where he had been under treatment for a heart disorder. He had been in poor health for a number of years.
He was born Nov. 16,1881 at Walton, Kan., and spent his early life there. On Dec. 26, 1912, he was married to Myrtle Neal in Nebraska.
The Barretts and their two young sons moved from Nebraska to Wyoming in 1917 and homesteaded near here. Later they moved into town where Barrett engaged in the barbering profession.
Survivors, besides his widow, include; his sons, Gordon and Russell; a brother, William of Morrill, Neb., and a sister, Nellie Tharp of Lozano, Calif.
Funeral services were observed at the Congregational church on Wednesday, October 1. Burial was in Douglas Park cemetery. Pallbearers were H.F. Esmay, C.G. Irwin, Joe Alexander, C.E. Schumm, Wayne Lindsey and Harry Larson.
