Boyden (Cooper), Jennie Elizina (Newell) (November, 1865 - June 13, 1952)
EARLY PIONEER LAID TO REST
Unknown - June 15, 1952Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon for Mrs. Jennie Elzina Boyden in the old log family home near Esterbrook where she lived for many years and where she died June 13. She was 86 years of age. Burial was in the Newell cemetery at the foot of a mountain nearby. Rev. Roy Morrell of Christ Episcopal church officiated.
Mrs. Boyden was one of the early pioneers of the Esterbrook area having moved here from Iowa with her parents some 6 years ago. She was born the year the Civil War ended, Nov. 1865, at Cedar Falls, Ia., and came to this region as a young woman of 24. Her parents were George and Adelia Newell.
Survivors include a son, Ray Cooper of Esterbrook, and grandson, Leroy Cooper. A more complete obituary will appear in next week's Budget.
