Unknown - February 26, 1970Funeral services for Dessie (Mrs. Bruce)Bower were held Feb. 20 at the First Methodist Church in Douglas with the Rev. Neil Warner officiating. Burial was in Douglas Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lester Johnson, Lawrence Hall, Eugene Ferguson, Glen Lore, Virgil Lore, and Max Rothleutner.
Mrs. Bower died Feb. 16 in St. Luke's Hospital in Denver.
She was born January 15, 1914 in Inman, Nebraska, the daughter of Fred E. and Emma Weller. She came to Wyoming in 1923, and attended schools in Douglas and Shawnee. On July 28, 1938 she was united in marriage with Bruce E. Bower and to this union eight children were born.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Valley Rebekah Lodge No. 15, American Legion Auxilliary, LaPrele Homemakers Club, and Royal Neighbors. She was known as a devoted mother, an avid fan of high school and Little League sports; and was interest in people and gardening, particularly flowers.
She is survived by her mother, Erma Weller of Casper, four daughters-Mrs. Ernie Throutman of Worden, Montana, Mrs.Donna Sharps, Douglas, Mrs. Cecil Van Patten, Gillette, and Nancy K. Bower of the family home in Douglas. Also four sons, Clyde E. Bower, Casper, Robert E. Bower, Sheridan, Richard M. Bower and Thomas D. Moore of the family home; three sisters-Mrs. Paul Fresorgern, Scottsbluff, Nebr., Mrs. Helen McCoy, Sheridan, and Mrs. Wm. Allender, North Platte, Nebr. She also is survived by a Brother, Fred E. Weller of Casper, and 12 grandchildren. Her father is deceased.
