John Murray Bissell died suddenly of a heart attack on Jan. 4. Death occurred at the Glen Edwards ranch.

He was a mechanic and for the past several years was projector operator at the Mesa Theater.

Bissell was born in Phillipsburg, Kansas, 62 years ago and had lived at Powell prior to coming to Douglas in 1952.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Verna, and two step-sons, Ernest and Stephan Howe. His sisters, Mrs. Maude Patterson of Eskridge, Kan., and Mrs. Mary Skellenger, Ridgefield, Wash., also survive.

Funeral services, conducted by Elder Rawlings of the Latter Day Saints church, were held Monday at the Stark funeral Home. Interment was made in Douglas Park cemetery.

Pallbearers at the service were Bud Pickinpaugh, Ed Russell, Harry Hoffman, William Beaver, Fred George and Bob Hildebrand.
