Bowers, Lucille (Bulger) (December 2, 1897 - December 13, 1975)
Douglas Budget - December 25, 1975Lucille Bulger was born December 2, 1897 at St. Joseph Missouri, the daughter of Arthur C. and May Bulger and passed away December 13, 1975 at DePaul Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming following surgery. Her childhood and young adulthood was spent in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
She came to Wyoming in 1932 with her first husband T.A. Rupe and their three sons.
On June 3, 1936 she married James A. Bowers at Harrison, Nebraska. She and her husband were engaged in ranching in the Dry Creek Community until 1966 when they retired from the ranch and moved to Douglas.
Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one graddaughter, (sic) a son Maurice Jacque Rupe who passed away in the service on May 30, 1942 and her husband who died July 8, 1967.
She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary, First Baptist Church and the Red Cross Gray Ladies.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas N. Rupe and I.B. Rupe, both of Douglas; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 16th with interment in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Pall Bearers were John R. Reed, Clyde Strand, August Riehle, Carroll Ballard, Durward Robertson and Clinton Owen.
