Unknown - September 13, 1973Funeral services for Elizabeth V. Black, 75, were held Wednesday, September 12, 1973 in the Glendo Community Church with the Rev. Clyde Thompson of the First Baptist Church in Douglas officiating. Burial was in Horseshoe Cemetery in Glendo.
Mrs. Black, a Glendo resident since 1913, died at the Platte County Nursing Wing in Wheatland after an extended illness.
Mrs. Black was born October 30, 1898 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and on May 16, 1936 was married to Victor J. Black. He preceded her in death in November 1964. A son, David McComb and a daughter, Olene, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Black was a member of the Glendo Community Church and the American Legion Auxilliary.
She is survived by a stepson, Melbourne Black, Salt Lake City, Utah; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Phyllis Bright, Indianola, Iowa; a brother, Werner Miller, Kenawick, Washington; and a sister, Mrs. Andy Robinson, Glendo. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Everett Weimer, George Collins, Sr., Everett Engling, George Cundall, Leo Foy, and James Stephenson.
