Unknown - April 30, 1970Funeral services for Rudy Blomquist, an early-day resident of Douglas, were held Saturday, April 25, at Christ Episcopal Church in Douglas, with the Rev. E. Eugene Larson officiating. Burial was in Douglas Park Cemetery. Services also were held April 24 at Longmont, Colorado.
Mr. Blomquist died at Longmont (Colorado) Hospital Apr. 23 after an illness of two weeks. He was a retired building contractor.
Rudolph C. Blomquist was born September 29, 1900 in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1910 he came to Douglas where he grew up and graduated from high school. He then entered into construction work which he followed in many areas of the country.
On April 29, 1935 he was married to E. Elizabeth Middleton in Illinois.
He retired in 1962 and went from Los Angeles to Longmont where he made his home since owning and operating the Flair apartments in that city.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Chicago, Ill., and of Emanuel Lutheran Church of North Hollywood, Calif.
Mr. Blomquist is survived by his wife Elizabeth; a daughter, Linda E. Blomquist of the family home in Longmont; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Reed of Douglas and Mrs. E.H. (Violet) Potter of North Hollywood, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
