Douglas Budget - December 15, 2004A memorial service was held Dec. 17 for Richard Pete Braun, 76, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Casper, with Father Michael Carr officiating.
Rite of Committal was at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery.
Mr. Braun died Dec. 13, 2004, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
He was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Morristown, S.D., to Mike and Lena (Bleth)Braun. He was raised and attended school in Watauga, S.D.
On Jan. 22, 1948, he married Kathleen Senftner in McIntosh, S.D. They moved to Douglas in 1974.
Mr. Braun enjoyed camping, dancing and spending time with friends and family. He loved children. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He worked for Dale Weaver Construction in Worland and was the owner of Big Horn Grocery in Worland. He also worked for Chinook Pipeline, Jericho Pipeline and Northwinds Pipeline, all of Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
Mr. Braun is survived by daughters and their spouses Rita and Dale Daniels of Sundance, Karen and Rick Brazelton of Dickinson, N.D., and Nancy and Mike Sherman of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; son John Michael Braun of Dickinson; sisters and their husbands Dorothy and Maurice Campbell of McIntosh and Fayme and Darwin Stoltenburg of Clearlake, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory of Casper.
