BROCKMEYER RIES TO BE HELD FRIDA
Unknown - November 4, 1954Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 for Herman Gerheart Brockmeyer, 77, who died at his home in Orpha Monday after being in failing health for a number of years. The services will be conducted by Rev. Clyde Thompson.
Burial will be made in the Douglas Park cemetery under the direction of the Stark mortuary.
Active pallbearers will be Raymer Combs, Ernest Steile, George Riehle, Art Hageman, Joe Mesa and Raymond Baker. Honorary pallbearers include Gene Combs, John Wohlford, Jim Stevens, Roy Ohlson, John Hildebrand, Jim Brackman, Jake Riehle, Marcus Graves and Lester Featherston.
Mr. Brockmeyer was born on March 19, 1877, at Hanover, Germany, the son of John and Adelaide Brockmeyer. The family moved to the United States when he was four years of age. Mr. Brockmeyer came to Wyoming in 1917 and homesteaded in the Dry Creek community.
He was married to Ethel Carew and to this union four children were born, all of whom survive: Mrs. Herminmie Sanford of Douglas, Donald Brockmeyer of Douglas, Charles Brockmeyer of Wanpeton, N.D., and Merlin Brockmeyer of Seattle, Wash. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
Mr. Brockmeyer moved to Glova, N.D., in 1937, returning to Wyoming in 1953. He spent his entire adult life until retirement in the ranching business and was a member of the Baptist church.
