Unknown - June 6, 1968Graveside services were held at the Douglas Park cemetery Wednesday, June 5, 1968 at 10 o'clock for Eula E. Brockway, who died at Eureka, California May 30, 1968 following a long illness. The Rev. Clyde Thompson officiated.
Eula Erben, daughter of Emanuel and Bessie Erben, was born in Omaha, Nebr., August 9, 1880. She came to Converse County with her parents when only three months old and lived here until 1943 when she moved to California. On June 9, 1904 she married Percy B. Brockway.
Mrs. Brockway taught school on Little Boxelder. She and Ida Slichter rode horseback and went around to collect money to buy the steel posts for the fence around Ft. Fetterman. Mr. Brockway helped with the irrigation project on LaPrele.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. George A. Kennard of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Minnie B. Webber of Salem, Oregon, Mrs. Glenn F. Bear of Kellerton, Iowa, who all attended services in Douglas; three sons, Lloyd H. of Wilseyville, Calif., Wesley B. of Cutten, Calif., James M. of Halfway, Ore.; 19 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
