Ward Brooks, one of Douglas' earliest residents, died April 19 at the Douglas hospital at the age of 93. He had lived in Douglas for 76 years coming from Nebraska where he was born March 9, 1869.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Edgar Hoffman officiating.

Mr. Brooks was a member of the Wyoming Pioneer Assn. and the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Irene Brooks of Hermiston, Oregon; three daughters, Mrs. Glendyn Snider, Pasadena, Cal.; Mrs. Phyllis Himmelreich, Los Angeles; Mrs. Edith Scyler, Hermiston; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Vernon Nauman, Bob Brock, Sam Amspoker, Lloyd Scyler, Tony Funk, and Gene Payne, Sr.
