Unknown - August 20, 1970Funeral services for Ivis Dale Brewer, 84, were held Monday, August 17, at Stark-Lapham Mortuary with the Rev. Dan Clark officiating. Interment was in Horseshoe Cemetery at Glendo.
Mr. Brewer died August 14 in the Casper hospital after suffering from cancer for 3 years.
He was born January 21, 1886 in Campbellsburg, Indiana, the son of John and Arvada Brewer. He attended schools in Campbellsburg and later lived in California and Wyoming. He worked as drag-line operator for CB&Q railroad.
He was married to Gertrude Darnold on Nov. 22, 1909 in Pasadena, Calif. they later went to Villisca, Iowa and came to Glendo in 1935. Mr. Brewer had a reputation as "quite a cook" and home cooking was his main hobby.
He is survived by his wife of Glendo; two daughters, Mrs. George Cundall, Glendo, and Mrs. E.A. G. Morton of New York City; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son, Dale, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Hughes, Jim Hughes, Bill Baxter, Leo Foy, Conrad Eller, and Everett Engling.
