Unknown - August 11, 1966Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 1966, at 2:30 at the First Baptist Church for Mrs. Bessie Clay Buck, 80, who died August 5, 1966, at the Wilson Nursing Home after a long illness.
Mrs. Buck was born in Kentucky September 8, 1885. She had lived in, and around Douglas for 50 years. She was a practical nurse and at one time she had a nursing home in Douglas.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Buck; three sons, William Stoner of Sedro Wooley, Wash., Paul Stoner of Torrington and Jack Alexander of Oregon; three daughters, Mrs. L.J. Platt, San Lorenzo, Calif., Mrs. J.H. Warner, Miami, Florida, and Mrs. Gale Ball of Douglas; one brother, Adrian Owen, Jacksonville, Florida; and one sister, Mrs. Harlen Jones of Newbury, Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tom Stoner, Ray Townsend, Fred White, Bill Tylee, Leon Chamberlain and Dick Strock.
